This system will bring a quick shot of light mountain snowfall with accumulations of three to five inches at the higher elevations and rain or a mix of rain and snow at the lower elevations.On Wednesday, expect increasing clouds with light snowfall developing in the mountains and rain and snow showers in the valleys by afternoon. Temperatures will rise into the 30s in the mountains and into the upper 40s at the lower elevations. Winds will be southwesterly at 20 miles per hour with higher gusts.The general avalanche hazard is expected to LOW. Warm temperatures and repeated melt-freeze cycles have settled and consolidated the snowpack. Avalanches are unlikely except in isolated pockets.
