The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Surface slabs that lie upon hard snow surface could be triggered by riders or skiers in avalanche terrain. These slabs may have depths to eighteen inches and will be most susceptible in steep terrain that shows signs of wind loading or near cliff or rocky areas.

West winds averaging near twenty miles per hour and high temperatures in the mid twenties are expected.The avalanche hazard is expected to remain Moderate in the Teton and Southwest trails area where human triggered slabs to eighteen inch depths remain possible in steep wind loaded terrain particularly in couloirs and cliff areas. The hazard is expected to be Low in the Togwotee pass area where less recent snow has fallen and riders could trigger isolated pockets to a foot in depth in high, steep avalanche terrain.
