The general avalanche hazard is Moderate today. In areas that held snow prior to this weeks storms, soft slabs have formed on weak, faceted snow and crusts. Backcountry travelers could trigger these slabs with depths to eighteen inches in steep wind loaded terrain at higher elevations where they are underlain by the old snow.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Steady snowfall is expected to continue through midnight before decreasing early Monday morning. Scattered snow showers remain possible during the day Monday as drier air moves into the area. Temperatures are to remain cool on Monday with mountain highs in the mid teens expected.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Moderate at upper elevations where new snow and strong winds have formed soft slabs to up to eighteen inches in depth. These slabs could be human triggered in steep areas where they have formed on the previously existing weak snowpack.
