Lo esencial

The General Avalanche hazard is MODERATE. Snowfall ending Friday and strong Westerly winds added weight to existing slabs resting on sun crusts and well developed surface hoar. Backcountry travelers could trigger surface slabs up to 18 inches in depth in wind loaded starting zones below cliff bands and in steep, cross loaded gullies. Slides may require stronger triggers like more than one 'biler at the same time on a slope. This new load has also increased the potential for releasing full depth avalanches on a weak, persistent layer of faceted snow at the base of the snow pack.
