Avalanche Summary

Dangerous avalanche conditions exist near and above treeline. You can trigger an avalanche large enough to bury you on northwest through north to east-facing slopes. You can trigger them from a distance too so be aware of steep slopes above you. Safer travel options exist on wind-sheltered slopes below treeline or on more south-facing slopes where new snow rests on bare ground or thick layers of ice.
