Lo esencial

Low avalanche danger continues for one more day!

Firm crusts with loose bonds and hard surfaces can challenge riders and sliders which could increase the danger in exposed terrain or terrain traps.

Use caution on steep slopes, especially near overhanging cornices that can break off.

Avalanche Discussion

Not much has changed.  We have a variety of snow surfaces out there with good snow in mid and low elevation shade...But don't worry it is about to get real interesting as the avalanche danger will rise Friday as new snow starts to form storm slabs. Winds will ramp up into the moderate range out of the South which will likely load and form dense slabs above loose weak sugary facets. The upper snowpack structure is poor with strong over weak layers that will fail this weekend.

Enjoy the low danger and blue skies on Thursday as Friday 7 inches or more of new snow will start to fall. 1-3 feet of new snow is possible through the weekend!!!
