NC for 04/04. Remaining snowpack well bonded and stable. Largest amounts, gullies, corries and plateaus above 1000m. Low hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: The remaining snowpack will be well bonded and stable throughout. The snow surface will be very firm after an overnight refreeze, softening where exposed to direct sunlight during the day. Largest snowfields will remain above 1000 metres in gullies, around coire back walls and on summit plateaus. Very patchy cover elsewhere. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: A dry, cloudy day with strong South-South-Westerly winds. The freezing will level drop to around 800 metres overnight; rising above the summits during the day. Observed Weather Influences: A dry, sunny day with strong Southerly winds. After an overnight frost the freezing level rose to around the highest summits. ObservedSnowStability: The remaining snow cover is well bonded and stable throughout. The snow surface is very firm, only softening where directly exposed to the sun. The largest snowfields remain above 1000 metres in gullies, around coire back walls and on summit plateaus. The avalanche hazard is Low.
