The General Avalanche Hazard is CONSIDERABLE at Mid and Upper elevations. Over a foot of new snow and moderate south-southwest winds have created easily triggered soft slabs over two feet in depth on lee slopes. Temperatures warmed through the night resulting in heavier snow poorly supported by weak, light-density snow. Loose sloughs are likely on steep slopes at all elevations and slides could entrain deeper snow from recent storms. Terrain traps and road cuts where depositon will be deep, should be avoided. At the Lower elevations the hazard is LOW as the snow is mostly stable.

Snow showers are to increase Thursday afternoon as mountain temperatures rise to the mid teens after dropping to near zero degrees tonight. Twenty to thirty mile per hour West winds are expected.The general avalanche hazard is expected to remain Considerable in the Teton and Southwest Trails areas and Moderate in the Togwotee Pass areas. Sensitive surface slabs to two feet in depth are expected to lie in steep avalanche terrain at the upper elevations as surface slabs are additionally loaded by West winds transporting the available surface snow through the night and as new snow arrives on Thursday.
