Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Weak disturbances in the ongoing northwest flow will keep the chance for mountain snow flurries or light snow with little accumulation in the forecast. Skies will be partly cloudy with periods of sunshine as temperatures struggle to warm from the single digits to the mid or upper teens. Ridgetop winds will be westerly at 10 miles per hour. The General Avalanche Hazard is expected to be MODERATE on Wednesday. In the Tetons backcountry travelers could trigger pockets of recently developed wind slabs or sloughs up to 10 inches deep in steep, wind-loaded avalanche terrain. In the Greys River and Togwotee Pass areas persistent slabs up to three feet in depth continue to pose a threat to skiers and riders on steep slopes.
