Avalanche Summary

You might trigger a slab avalanche on higher-elevation wind-drifted slopes that face north, northeast, and east. Any avalanche you trigger in the newly drifted snow could break deeper, creating a much larger slide. Steer around smooth rounded surfaces or stiff, hollow slabs below ridges or the sides of steep gullies. Lower-angle, wind-sheltered slopes will provide safer riding options.
