The General Avalanche Hazard is LOW at all elevations. The early season snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely. Backcountry travelers who venture into cliff areas or steep north facing couloirs at high elevations could trigger slab avalanches to one foot in depth in isolated pockets.

The departing trough will produce some light snowfall tonight. Another disturbance will bring more light snow Tuesday and Tuesday evening with accumulations of 2 to 3 inches. Winds from the West to Southwest will be on the increase with thirty mph averages and gusts to fifty. Monday night lows will be in the mid teens and daytime highs Tuesday near twenty. Snowfall totals are forecasted to be in the two to three inch range and the General Avalanche Hazard is expected to remain LOW at all elevations. The early season snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely however sensitive, isolated pockets will build with increasing winds by Tuesday afternoon. Although snowfall totals are light, with smooth sliding surfaces released small pockets have the potential to entrain enough snow to become hazardous.
