Lo esencial
At the mid and upper elevations dangerous dense slabs up to three feet in depth formed by west to southwest winds exist. These unstable slabs lie upon a weak layer of buried surface hoar and a faceted October snowpack. These slabs could be triggered on steep wind loaded aspects. As these slabs become more stable and difficult to trigger they may release after multiple crossings and/or when skiers or riders are further out onto them. At the lower elevations the snowpack is shallow and avalanches are unlikely.
