Most slopes are safe from avalanches, generally due to very thin or nonexistent snow cover. You may find isolated wind-drifted slopes capable of producing an avalanche on easterly slopes in the alpine.

These areas will also be the most tempting places to ride so use caution. if you encounter stiff hollow-feeling wind drifts.
