Lo esencial

While stable avalanche conditions exist due to the thick surface crust, travel conditions likely remain challenging.

Snowpack Summary

Expect to find a widespread thick crust at all higher elevations, treeline and above. You may find up to 10 cm of new snow sitting atop this crust in isolated areas. Below the crust the snow is moist. The crust should now bridge any previous layers of concern deeper in the snowpack.

Confidence

Moderate

Terrain and Travel Advice

  • When a thick, melt-freeze surface crust is present, avalanche activity is unlikely.
  • Expect shallow snow cover that barely covers ground roughness.
