NC for 25.12: Mild. The snowpack will be well bonded throughout. Isolated instabilities on steep, convex NE,E,to S aspects. Low Haz.

Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will continue to thaw, consolidate and become generally stable throughout. Some isolated wet snow instabilities may affect very steep and convex terrain on North-East through East to South aspects above 950 metres. Elsewhere the ground will be mostly bare with limited patches and ribbons of old snow. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Mild conditions will continue. Dry throughout the forecast period with gale to storm force South-Westerly winds. Observed Weather Influences: Very mild with freezing levels well above the summits. Occasional drizzle with gale to storm force Westerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is thawing at all altitudes. Localised instabilities remain within deeper deposits on steep and convex North-East through East to South aspects above 950 metres. On these aspects cornice remnants are unstable. Elsewhere the ground is mostly bare with patches and ribbons of well bonded snow. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
