The surface of the snowpack has frozen to form a strong crust only at high altitudes and will already soften in the late morning.

The surface of the snowpack will only just freeze and will soften during the day. In isolated cases the avalanches are small.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of mild temperatures the snowpack consolidated. As a consequence of warming during the day there will be an increase in the danger of moist and wet avalanches.
