Forecast Snow Stability: Little change is expected. The existing patchy snowpack will remain firm, well bonded and stable. Greatest amounts are located on coire back walls, scarp slopes and ridge flanks of a North-West through North to East aspect above 950 metres. Isolated patches at lower elevations will become increasingly depleted in the slow thaw. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: A dry day is expected. Winds will be South-Westerly moderate, building gradually to become strong later. The freezing level will be at summit level overnight before dropping to around 1100 metres during daylight hours. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with strong South-Westerly winds initially. These later became West-South-Westerly and dropped in strength to become moderate. The freezing level remained around summit level. ObservedSnowStability: The patchy snowpack is firm, stable and well bonded at all elevations. Greatest amounts are on North-West through North to East aspects above 950 metres such as coire back walls and ridge flanks. Outwith these areas patches and narrow ribbons are limited in extent and confined to sheltered hollows, depressions and stream beds. The avalanche hazard is Low.
