Wind slabs and wet snow require caution.

As a consequence of warming during the day and the solar radiation, the likelihood of moist snow slides and avalanches being released will increase gradually in particular on steep sunny slopes above approximately 1800 m. As a consequence of a light to moderate wind from northerly directions, mostly small wind slabs formed. This applies in particular on east, southeast and south facing slopes at high altitude, as well as adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas. Explanation: "these" may only stand for "these avalanches" are rather small but in some cases easily released. The avalanche prone locations are easy to recognise. Backcountry touring calls for caution and restraint.

Over a wide area 10 cm of snow, and up to 15 cm in some localities, fell yesterday above approximately 1500 m. The new snow is lying on a crust in all aspects. As a consequence of high temperatures and solar radiation the snowpack will settle from early morning. Above approximately 2000 m there are 100 to 200 cm of snow, and even more in some localities. Snow depths vary greatly at elevated altitudes, depending on the infuence of the wind.

Monday: Slight increase in danger of moist avalanches as a consequence of warming. Steep slopes and in the vicinity of peaks: Slight increase in danger of dry avalanches as a consequence of the sometimes strong northerly wind.
