Avalanche Activity

As a consequence of the new snow the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent as the day progresses. In the course of the day danger level 2 (moderate) will be reached above approximately 2000 m.

The fresh snow and the wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant in particular on northwest to north to northeast facing aspects above approximately 2000 m. In steep rocky terrain loose snow slides are possible.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of snowfall above approximately 1700 m and the wind, snow drift accumulations will form. The snowfall will give rise as the day progresses to unfavourable bonding of the snowpack in some places in particular on very steep north, northeast and northwest facing slopes above approximately 2000 m.
