Predominantly favorable conditions and low danger prevail. During the day, danger of moist slides will slightly increase above 2200m. Alertness is required towards freshly generated snowdrift accumulations which will be generated again today by gusty SW winds; most are small, but are prone to triggering at high altitudes and can be released even by one sole skier. The risks of falling outweigh those of being buried in snow. In regions where snowfall has been heavy on very steep grass-covered slopes, glide-snow avalanches continue to be possible. Caution below glide cracks. Weak layers in the old snow can often be triggered in high alpine regions, particularly by large additional loading small-to-medium avalanches can be triggered.

Nocturnal skies were partly cloudy, outgoing radiation not good. A crust formed which is generally capable of bearing loads only at high altitudes. During the day due to solar radiation and warming, the snowpack forfeits its firmness, increasing the danger of wet-snow avalanches somewhat. Gusty SW winds will generate small snowdrift accumulations at high altitudes. More will be generated through the fresh snow expected to fall today. Bonding to the encrusted old snowpack is often poor, trigger-sensitive. At low and intermediate altitudes there is not much snow on the ground. In high alpine regions, partricularly on very steep shady slopes, there are still isolated danger zones for dry-snow avalanches; small-to-medium slabs can trigger in near-surface or Sahara dust layers.

Despite heavy cloud some sunshine this morning. The first snow showers will arrive in the mountains. Often gray skies this afternoon, visibility will deteriorate, showers become more frequent. The snowfall level will lie at 1500-1900m. t 2000 m: 1 degree. Moderate to brisk, strong-gusty SW winds.

Gray skies, cool temperatures, variable conditions at the beginning of next week. Avalanche danger at high altitudes can increase somewhat due to precipitation and wind impact.
