Forecast Snow Stability: Surface layers of the patchy snow will initially be firm, gradually softening through the day. Greatest amounts of snow will be found in high North to East facing corries above 900 metres and around the higher Cairngorm summits. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Cold overnight with the freezing levels dipping to 800 metres before rising to above the summits. A sunny clear morning is expected, cloudier in the afternoon. Winds, moderate Northerlies at dawn but veering and easing throughout the day, light South-Easterlies late afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: Generally mild, low cloud at times and occasional very light rain. A temperature of plus 4.4 degrees celsius was recorded at 933 metres. Winds were moderate from the North-West. ObservedSnowStability: The patchy snow is soft but well bonded and stable. Greatest amounts are found in high North to East facing corries above 900 metres and around the higher Cairngorm tops. The avalanche hazard is Low.
