Lo esencial

The snowpack at the higher elevations is shallow and consolidated. Avalanches are unlikely. The shallow snow depths present the potential for backcountry travelers to hit obstacles. Caution is advised.

Avalanche Discussion

Winds will decrease overnight. Isolated light snow showers with little accumulation will continue until sunrise. On Friday skies will be partly cloudy. Temperatures will drop into the single digits and teens overnight and rise into the teens and 20’s during the day. Decreasing northerly winds will become light and variable.The snowpack is shallow and stable. Avalanches are unlikely. The general avalanche hazard will be low above an elevation of 8,000 feet. The terrain below that elevation is mostly bare of snow.
