Individual wet snow slides are possible. Restraint should be exercised because avalanches can sweep people along and give rise to falls.

As a consequence of fresh fallen snow and winds, predominantly medium-sized snowdrift accumulations have been generated at high altitudes in the southern regions. On Monday, as a result of fresh snow and winds, fresh snowdrift accumulations will be generated also in the northern regions. The bonding of fresh snow and fresh snowdrifts to the old snowpack is inadequate in some places, particularly on north-facing slopes. Beneath the fresh fallen snow the snowpack is thoroughly wet, on south-facing slopes far up into high alpine regions; on west-facing and east-facing slopes it is wet below approximately 3000 m; and on north-facing slopes below approximately 2400 m. In isolated cases, avalanches can sweep away the thoroughly wet deeper-down layers of the snowpack.

On Sunday skies were heavily overcast for the most part. During the night in the southern regions there was intensive precipitation registered in the southern regions, which subsequently slackened off during the course of the day. The snowfall level descended from approximately 1800 m down to 1300 to 1500 m. In the northern and central parts of Grisons more than anywhere else, there were some bright intervals. Fresh snow: Since the beginning of this period of precipitation on Friday evening, the following amounts of fresh snow have been registered above approximately 2000 m:

• In the northern regions skies will frequently be heavily overcast and precipitation is expected. The snowfall level will lie at 1300 to 1700 m. In the southern regions nocturnal skies will be clear in some places, then during the morning sunny in some places. In the afternoon, skies will be more heavily overcast, but it will remain dry for the most part. Fresh snow: Between Sunday afternoon and Monday afternoon, the following amounts of fresh snow are anticipated above approximately 2000:

Tuesday: Nighttime skies will still be predominantly overcast, and thereby, outgoing longwave radiation will be reduced. During the daytime hours, particularly in the western regions, lots of sunshine is anticipated. In the other regions of Switzerland it will be partly, in the northeastern regions predominantly overcast. A small amount of snowfall is expected. The danger of dry-snow avalanches is expected to diminish. In the western regions more than anywhere else, the solar radiation and daytime warming will cause the danger of wet-snow avalanches to increase. Wednesday: Following a night of clear skies it wil be predominantly sunny and somewhat warmer. The avalanche situation will become increasingly subject to springtime conditions. The danger of dry-snow avalanches will persist especially in the high alpine regions. During the course of the day, wet-snow avalanches, particularly triggering from the fresh fallen snow, can be expected.
