Avalanche danger rises through the morning from low to moderate, due to the increasingly wet snowpack. Favorable conditions will still reign in the morning. The snowpack in early morning is melt-freeze encrusted, then softens and moistens very quickly on sunny slopes in particular, the snow is often rotten. Due to wetness, the whole snowpack destabilizes more and more. On steep north-facing slopes at high altitudes there are still reserves of cold; in these places there are weak layers of faceted crystals.
