Avalanche Activity

As the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day there will be only a slight increase in the danger of moist and wet avalanches.

The snowpack will be generally stable. The avalanche prone locations are rather rare and are easy to recognise. As the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation there will be only a slight increase in the danger of moist and wet avalanches. This applies in particular on steep sunny slopes, as well as at the base of rock walls.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of rising temperatures and solar radiation a crust formed on the surface. This applies especially on steep sunny slopes, as well as at low and intermediate altitudes. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing moistening of the snowpack. From a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.
