Lo esencial

Fresh wind slabs above approximately 2000 m. Individual dry slab avalanches are possible, but they will be mostly small.

Problemas de aludes

  • Wind slab

    • Above 2,000 m
  • Persistent weak layers

    • Above 2,200 m

Avalanche Activity

Fresh wind slabs above approximately 2000 m. Individual dry slab avalanches are possible, but they will be mostly small.

The mostly small wind slabs can be released, especially by large additional loads, in particular on steep northeast, north and northwest facing slopes above approximately 2000 m. In particular at the base of rock walls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent.

Snowpack Structure

In some places wind slabs are lying on a weakly bonded old snowpack. Individual weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack in particular on shady slopes. The rain gave rise to favourable bonding of the snowpack below approximately 2000 m.

Tendency

The meteorological conditions will bring about a rise in the danger towards the evening.
