Small wet loose avalanches will be possible to trigger on Monday, especially on sun exposed slopes during the warmest time of the day. Wet loose avalanches will not be big enough to bury a person, but there could be enough snow moving to knock you off your feet in steep terrain. Use timing and aspect to find the best riding conditions and avoid wet loose avalanches when traveling in steep and committing terrain.

    Monitor the surface snow conditions. If the surface becomes wet and slushy be cautious in steep and committing terrain. Wet loose avalanches typically start at a point and entrain snow as they move downhill, forming a fan shaped avalanche. Be cautious around steep and sun exposed slopes above terrain traps, cliffs and long sustained steep pitches. Use timing to allow the snow surface to soften and find good riding conditions and move to less sun exposed aspects as the surface snow becomes wet and slushy. 

    If snow surfaces are not warming up and becoming slushy, the wet loose problem will not come on.

There is a wide variety of surface conditions out there. Some 'recycled' powder exists on north facing shaded terrain. As we start into the new week, there is no snow in the forecast. With warm and sunny days coming, we can hope for the corn cycle to kick in. The surface snow has been softening up on solar aspects. Watch out for areas of slick crusts on the surface, especially in the morning and afternoon after the slopes go into the shade.
