Lo esencial

In the last two days fifteen inches of snow containing an inch and a half of moisture has fallen at the upper elevations of the Tetons. This snow has was accompanied by ten to twenty mile per hour northwest winds and fell upon firm snow surfaces and loose powder. Surface slabs that could be human triggered lie at the mid and high elevations on leeward slopes. These slabs will be most sensitive and prevalent at high elevations and could be released in small pockets on steep features at mid elevations with shallow depths. Avalanches at low elevations are unlikely today where the snowpack lacks coverage and where mostly rain fell. This is the final avalanche advisory for the 2012-2013 season. Weather data such as snowfall amounts can be viewed on our website by looking directly at raw station data or by viewing the 24 hour weather data summery page. Weekly summaries will continue for another month. Thanks for your support!
