On Friday skies will be mostly sunny as a high pressure ridge begins to build across the region. Temperatures in the mountains will warm into the 40s and 50s from overnight lows in the 20s. Winds will be from the west at 10 to 15 miles per hour.The warm temperatures and sunshine could cause wet loose sluffs involving the recent new snow on steep slopes and in cliff areas. In addition it will increase the potential for humans to trigger isolated pockets of surface slab up to a foot deep. These shallow surface slabs could be triggered beneath corniced slopes and in steep avalanche starting zones with fresh deposits of wind drifted snow.
