Lo esencial

At the mid and upper elevations southwest winds have formed new soft slabs up to a foot in depth. They lie on a layer of surface hoar which formed midweek and denser slabs formed on Monday and Tuesday. These slabs could be triggered on steep wind loaded aspects and in cliff areas. Once triggered these shallow slabs could step down through the older slabs to a basal layer of weak faceted snow. Loose snow sluffs are possible on steep non-wind affected slopes and on sunlit aspects in the afternoon. At the lower elevations the snowpack is shallow and avalanches are unlikely except in isolated pockets or as shallow loose snow sluffs.
