Avalanche Summary

Most slopes are safe from avalanches. If you were to trigger a small avalanche, it would be in wind-drifted snow below ridgelines and along gullies in the alpine. Evaluate areas where drifts are deeper or stiffer. Our snowpack is shallow, and even a small slide can make for an uncomfortable ride over shallow and exposed rocks.
