A shallow, early season snowpack up to a foot in depth exist above an elevation of 9,000 feet where the general avalanche hazard is LOW. Some consolidation of the recent new snow is occurring due to mild temperatures and snow settlement. Strong winds during the weekend have created areas of wind packed snow. Avalanches are unlikely. However, due to the shallow snow depths, the consequences of a small human triggered slab avalanche in very steep terrain could be severe. The ground surface is mostly bare below an elevation of 7,500 feet.

Winds will be south-southwest to south with gusts to 35 miles per hour. Temperatures will be in the upper 20s and 30s at the higher elevations as the freezing level hovers around the 7,500 to 8,000 foot level. The general avalanche hazard in snow covered terrain is LOW and avalanches are unlikely.
