Lo esencial

At the mid and upper elevations backcountry users may trigger hard to soft surface slabs on steep terrain that formed during the recent storm that was accompanied by very strong winds. These slabs may lie to greater than two feet in depth and will become harder to predict as the slopes that showed areas of this recent loading are covered by new snow. New, shallow surface slabs that form today as snowfall is accompanied by strong winds may also be triggered this afternoon on steep leeward slopes at the upper elevations. At low elevations isolated pockets could possibly be triggered in very steep wind loaded terrain. Yesterday a skier was caught, partially buried, and injured in No Name Canyon on a SE slope.
