The general avalanche hazard this morning is MODERATE at the high elevation, and LOW at the mid and low elevation, rising to MODERATE at all elevations in the afternoon. At the upper elevations, slabs up to 3 feet in depth could be triggered in steep wind loaded terrain, and will become more susceptible in the afternoon with an increase in temperature. At lower elevations, wet slabs and wet loose avalanches are the primary concern, which could occur on sunlit aspects during the afternoon warm-up if clear skies prevail.

A secondary upper low-pressure system over Southwest Wyoming this afternoon will continue to generate snow showers through this evening. The associated unstable Southeast flow will back Easterly overnight and stabilize with snow showers decreasing across the Tetons and the Gros Ventres. Ridge top winds will be 5 to 15 mph. Overnight mountain temperatures should decrease to the low teens before rising into the 20s tomorrow afternoon. Valley lows should be in the teens, with highs tomorrow in the mid 30s.
