Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will continue to be deposited overnight, mainly onto North to East aspects above 950 metres. Areas most affected will be steep wind sheltered areas such coire and plateau rims, particularly were accumulations achieve depth. Other aspects will be subject to cross loading. Outwith these areas the snowpack will remain consolidated, stable, and continue to deplete at lower elevations. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Forecast Weather Influences: Light precipitation is expected in the early part of the night, this falling as snow above 800 metres leaving a dry day. Winds will be mainly from the South-West, initially gale force becoming moderate by dawn, before building to strong by the end of the period. The freezing level will be 800 metres overnight rising gradually to 1000 metres in the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: Rain at all levels overnight gradually turned to snow above 900 metres in the morning, with isolated showers later. Winds were gale force from the South overnight, veering to become strong from the South-West by morning. The freezing level was above the summits overnight dropping to 950 metres close to dawn. ObservedSnowStability: Moist unstable windslab was deposited throughout the day, mainly onto steep North to East aspects above 950 metres. Areas most affected are steep wind sheltered locations such as coire and plateau rims where these accumulations achieve depth. Outwith these areas there is a cosmetic dusting or new snow above 900 metres, while the older snowpack is generally moist, well consolidated and stable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
