As a consequence of new snow and strong wind the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent.
In some localities 10 to 20 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall above approximately 1800 m. The wind slabs are to be evaluated with care and prudence. The number and size of avalanche prone locations will increase as the day progresses.
The fresh snow and the wind slabs represent the main danger. In very isolated cases weak layers exist in the centre of the snowpack, in particular on steep shady slopes at high altitude.
