Avalanche Activity

The fresh snow as well as the resulting wind slabs represent the main danger.

The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas and in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. In the regions exposed to heavier precipitation the avalanche prone locations are more prevalent and larger. In all aspects large and, in isolated cases, very large avalanches are possible. Avalanches can be released, even by a single winter sport participant.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of new snow and wind, wind slabs formed. They must be evaluated with care and prudence. The new snow and wind slabs of the last few days are bonding poorly with the old snowpack. Weak layers exist in the top section of the snowpack.

Tendency

In some regions light precipitation. The weather will be cold.
