Salt River and Wyoming Ranges

The General Avalanche Hazard this morning is LOW and will increase to MODERATE as the day warms. Overnight lows just below freezing and two to four inches of new snow have temporarily increased stability. The hazard will raise proportional to the amount of heat and sun absorbed by the snowpack during the day. This morning, daily warming and sunshine will continue to melt the upper snowpack resulting in wet, loose surface slides, along with the possibility of deeper wet slabs. In the afternoon, any rain will continue to destabilize the snowpack. Avoid steep ravines and road cuts where even small wet slides can be dangerous.

Upper elevations could see up to three inches of new snow by morning.
