Lo esencial

The threat of triggering dangerous persistent slabs to three feet in depth continues in avalanche terrain. Isolated pockets of shallow wind slabs could be released on very steep, upper elevation slopes. Be alert if considering travel in high consequence terrain and evaluate the snowpack carefully to identify areas of concern.

Persistent slabs to three feet in depth rest on weak, faceted snow and hard snow surfaces at the mid and upper elevations and around a foot deep at the lower elevations. These dangerous slabs could be triggered by people in steep, avalanche terrain. Some steep areas may be crossed multiple times before a weak spot is encountered causing failure of the slope. Periods of extended sunshine will make slides easier to trigger.
