Mostly stable conditions exist. During the past 24 hours north to northwest winds may have drifted available snow onto leeward aspects along the highest ridge lines. Avalanche activity has been limited to isolated pockets of shallow surface slab during the past several weeks. Normal precautions are always advised in steep avalanche prone terrain and cliff areas.

Dry and cold conditions will continue as a high pressure ridge dominates the weather in the western states. Skies are expected to be mostly clear above areas of morning valley fog. Temperatures will rise into the upper teens to low 20s after dropping to near zero at 10,500 feet and to around minus ten in the valleys overnight. Winds will be westerly at five to ten miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW, however low hazard does not mean there is no hazard. At the upper elevations humans who venture into steep avalanche terrain could trigger isolated pockets of wind slab up to 18 inches in depth. These shallow wind slabs will pose a hazard in extreme terrain and cliff areas. Avalanches are unlikely at the mid and lower elevations.
