Togwotee Pass
Peligro de aludes
Lo esencial
The general avalanche hazard is LOW, however low hazard does not mean no hazard. At the upper elevations isolated pockets of shallow wind slab formed by northerly winds exist and in isolated areas on very steep shaded aspects, pockets of dense slab up to two feet in depth may have some potential to be human triggered in extreme terrain. The potential to trigger these slabs will increase as the day warms. Avalanches are unlikely at the mid and lower elevations.
Avalanche Discussion
( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )A ridge of high pressure will move from the Eastern Pacific into Wyoming over the weekend. Strong thermal inversions will develop under this ridge. On Friday skies will be mostly sunny with temperatures rising into the 20s and light winds from the west-northwest.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW, however low hazard does not mean no hazard. At the higher elevations isolated pockets of shallow wind slab formed by northerly winds exist along exposed ridges. On steep, northerly aspects above 9,500 feet some potential persists for humans to trigger pockets of dense slab up to two feet in depth. Avalanches are unlikely elsewhere.
