New shallow surface sloughs may be easily triggered today and the potential continues for deeper instabilities in the snowpack to be triggered and larger slides to occur, particularly today as temperatures warm into the thirties. Wednesday the westerly flow will bring another two inches and high temperatures near freezing. These generally shallow slabs or sloughs could be easily triggered Wednesday and the potential to trigger larger avalanches involving deeper weak layers in the snowpack also exists.
