Forecast Snow Stability: Areas of unstable windslab will remain in wind-sheltered areas on North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. Although not particularly extensive many of these deposits will be quite deep. Areas of windslab will also be present on similar aspects at lower levels, but will tend to be shallower and more stable. Exposed windward aspects will hold little snow and are mostly scoured. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: It will be generally dry through the period. Moderate winds will be from the South-West. The freezing level will rise to around 600 metres through the day. Observed Weather Influences: It was a wild winter\'s day with storm force South-Westerly winds which backed Westerly during the day. There were snow showers throughout the day. The freezing level was around 600 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Deep deposits of soft unstable windslab have been deposited above 900 metres in mostly isolated locations sheltered from the strong winds. Most affected are North through East to South-East aspects. Wind exposed slopes have been scoured and hold little snow. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
