The mostly small wind slabs represent the main danger.
The strong wind will transport the new snow. The wind slabs will form especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and generally at high altitudes. The weather conditions will give rise to gradual consolidation of the snowpack in some cases. As a consequence of falling temperatures the snowpack will consolidate during the next few days.
Snowpack Structure
The snowpack will be subject to considerable local variations. The wind slabs are to be found especially in gullies and bowls in all aspects and generally at high altitudes. The weather conditions from the early morning will give rise to gradual consolidation of the snowpack.
