Forecasted snowfall did not materialize on Saturday, and mostly stable conditions remained throughout the day. Skiers and riders might be able to trigger an isolated pocket of shallow soft slab on very steep, leeward slopes near high elevation ridgelines. Otherwise, avalanche activity is unlikely.

Pacific moisture will gradually increase in west-northwest flow. On Monday skies will be overcast with periods of occasional light snowfall. Accumulations of an inch or two are possible. Temperatures will be in the teens in the mountains. Winds will back towards the west and increase to 15 to 25 miles per hour.The snowpack is stable below the late November crust. Increasing winds will begin to form small pockets of shallow wind slab 4 to 8 inches deep in upper elevation avalanche starting zones. These shallow slabs could knock over a skier or rider and pose a hazard on very steep slopes and above cliff areas. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. Monitor conditions and be aware of heightened hazard in isolated terrain features on the lee side of our highest ridge crests and summits.
