Strong SW winds during the storm have created slabs in and above the treeline. Wind-driven snow could be found below ridges, in gullies, and in cross-loaded areas. Any area that collected wind-driven snow from this past storm still needs time to bond. A person in avalanche terrain would be a likely tipping point today for a slab to release. A wind slab today could step down to deeper instabilities in the snowpack, our 2nd problem in the list below. Wind will shift today to the NW, possibly redistributing snow to the SE, watch for changing wind conditions and blowing snow today.
