Forecast Snow Stability: Overnight, the snowpack will partially consolidate. During the day it will become moist and soft in all locations but should remain generally well bonded and stable. Remaining cornices will be prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Another dry day is expected. Milder temperatures will be a feature of the period, with the freezing level well above the summits. Winds will be fresh and from the South-East at first, veering and easing becoming South-Westerly by the end of the day.

Observed Weather Influences: Today was dry and much milder, midday summit temperature at 1150 metres was plus six degrees celsius. Winds were moderate in strength from a South-South-East direction. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack has become moist and soft but remains generally well bonded and stable at all levels and on all aspects. Greatest snow accumulations are on North-West through North to Easterly aspects mainly above 800 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
