As a consequence of snowfall and the occasionally strong easterly wind, fresh snow drift accumulations formed, in particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. Dry slab avalanches are possible as the day progresses, even quite large ones. The fresh snow and in particular the wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant.
