Forecast Snow Stability: Areas of well bonded windslab will remain in wind sheltered locations on West to North aspects above 900 metres. As the day progresses the snowpack will consolidate, becoming firm and icy above 1100 metres. Above 650 metres and below 1100 metres snow loss is anticipated, resulting in moist snow with residual snow patches in hollows and burn lines. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Precipitation is expected through most of the forecast period. This will be a mix of summit snow and rain at all elevations as the freezing level fluctuates around the highest summits. Winds will be Easterly strong, backing to the South-South-East and becoming fresh. During the day the freezing level will be around 1200 to 1150 metres. Observed Weather Influences: A generally dry day with strong Easterly winds. Although a dusting of new snow fell above 550 metres on the southern boundary of the area. The freezing level was around 800 metres in the morning rising to 1000 metres later. ObservedSnowStability: Areas of windslab are present on wind sheltered locations of a West to North aspects above 900 metres. These are mostly well bonded, with some isolated and avoidable accumulations demonstrating weakness in the south of the Creag Meagaidh area. Outwith these areas slopes exposed to the wind are icy and scoured. Elsewhere a dusting of new snow is rapidly thawing below in 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
