The fresh and older wind slabs can still be released. Mostly the avalanches are medium-sized but can be released in many cases even by a single winter sport participant. Along the border with France the avalanche prone locations are more widespread and the danger is greater. The weather will be mild. In particular steep sunny slopes and base of rock walls: On very steep sunny slopes and at low altitude medium-sized and, in many cases, large moist and wet avalanches are possible as the moisture increases. Below approximately 2600 m moist avalanches can penetrate even deep layers and reach quite a large size.

As a consequence of snowfall and the occasionally storm force northwesterly wind, fresh snow drift accumulations formed during the last few days. The sometimes storm force wind has transported a lot of snow. In the vicinity of peaks snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Here a lot of snow is lying for the time of year. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise from early morning to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular on sunny slopes.
